CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

MAT CLASS

Our Pilates mat class is designed to challenge the beginner and the practicing Pilates student. Mat classes are a great way to learn the fundamental principles of the Pilates method. Pilates is a full body-conditioning program comprised of a series of approximately 500 designed movements performed on a mat and/or on specific apparatus. Pilates improves strength, flexibility, balance, control and muscular symmetry. The rhythmic exercises promote elongated and toned muscles, and are noted for developing abdomen, lower back and buttocks strength, and create a strong body core.

BARRE CLASS

55 minutes of Pilates on the ballet barre. These dance inspired moves will strengthen and tone your entire body all while channeling your inner ballerina. Classes are small and form focused.

BALL CLASS

"Pilates on the Ball” is very similar to other Pilates classes in that it incorporates many mat and equipment-based exercises. Adding the ball increases your mind/body awareness, core strength, balance and flexibility as you perform the work on an unstable base of support. Because of this instability, the class IS challenging, but fun. Each student works on their own ball and throughout the class variations and modifications are shown as needed. A typical class could include spine articulation, the rollup, leg circles, rolling like a ball, hundreds, etc. all using the big ball.

GROUP REFORMER

Pilates improves strength, flexibility, balance, control and muscular symmetry. Group Reformer/Wunda Chair

Group reformer class and Wunda Chair class in one!  The Wunda chair is a challenging piece of equipment that will work all areas of the body.  Clients must have completed a minimum of 10 reformer classes before taking this class.

PILATES POWER

A fun workout using a variety of hand weights. Students will be using the Pilates breath to help them focus on core engagement while challenging larger muscle groups with lunges, squats and standing core work. Cadence specific music provides an energizing atmosphere and sets the steady tempo for the exercises. Athletic shoes are recommended.

TRX CLASSES

TRX builds strength, balance, flexibility and burns fat using special equipment to partially suspend your bodyweight. Your core is actively engaged in every TRX movement.  Adaptable to all fitness levels. Challenge yourself with this unique workout! Wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes.

TABATA

Get your cardio workout in half the time with Tabata interval training. Tabata helps you focus on working your hardest for 20 seconds of time followed by a short rest period. Because each 45 min segment targets the same muscle group you are sure to get that heart working while strengthening major muscle groups. The greatest benefit to Tabata interval training is calories burned long after your workout is done! This type of workout is for any fitness level and will be a healthy challenge for all!

JUMP BOARD

Jump Board is a great way to add a cardiovascular workout to your Pilates practice. The Jump Board is designed to build strength in the legs, abs, ankles, and feet. In addition, the aerobic style of movement will get your heart rate up, helping you to increase your cardiovascular endurance and maximize calorie burn.

SPIN CLASS

Spinning is a fun and effective group cardio conditioning activity using a specialized stationary bicycle. Spinning strengthens the heart, improves lung function and increases metabolism. Each Spinning class has no more than ten students. Smaller classes provide for more individualized attention to correct form. Pedals are SPD compatible, and participants should wear stiff soled athletic shoes or cycle shoes. Classes are 50 minutes in length. Bottled water and hand towel provided.
