I am easily overwhelmed.
A month ago, I was not-very-gracefully trying to figure out how to be
accountable to Pendleton Pilates’ fast-growing management staff, teaching team
and clients. I would lie awake at night and my mind would play ping pong with a
whole host of concerns and issues and ideas. A chronic cough returned and I
remembered that if I couldn’t find a way to get my business and service life in
good health, my personal health would also be at risk.
So I had to get my head around a few basic, simple values so I could begin to
see the structure and plan for our growing business. Once I understood the
anchoring, guiding principles, I knew all of our actions would follow from
there. It is like I had to build a Reformer for our business – a conceptual
machine to support us in motion until we had realigned by making accountable
movements, repeatedly, over time.
This is precisely why I fell in love with Pilates in the first place. It is an
organized, methodical way to realign the body and mind for better living. If
you do it, your life will be better. Period. This is also why I am also a
grateful student of the 12-Step Program. It too is a simple, easy plan to get
into right action in order to think more clearly and to stay sober in order to
be able to make a difference in the world.
And that’s why I created our first ever, on-paper Mission Statement with Values
and Goals. You can read it here. It is my intention that
you can feel our values when you walk in the door of any of our studios; that
you will know how much we respect the Pilates method and value your practice,
your patronage and your growth. It is also my hope that you come to know us for
taking action on things that matter rather than admiring the words we wrote to
clarify our values.
Thanks so much for helping us grow up this year. And please do give us feedback
as we move through even more growth in 2007. Do you see places of strength we
aren’t fully realizing? Places or practices where we are weak? Do you want to
be a bigger part of our growth?
I know that if we focus and keep it simple, the possibilities are endless.

Price and Policy Change in 2007
As of January 1, 2007 our Group Reformer class prices will go up a dollar per
session. Right now, your package of 10 Group Reformer classes is $210. After
the first of the year, the price will go up to $220 for the 10-Session Package.
Additionally, our contract rates for NEW Unlimited Contracts will also go up.
As of 1/1/2007, the monthly fee for a six-month contract will be $190 and the
monthly fee for a year contract will be $165.
If you are currently on a contract, you will not see any price change until it
is time for you to renew your package. If you are buying Group Packages, we
encourage you to pre-purchase your package in 2006 to enjoy the same pricing in
2007.
We also encourage you to contact the studio to find out what is the most
economical plan for you. Many of our clients have converted to the Unlimited
Packages. Not only do you get unlimited Reformer, XXX, Mat classes and Open
Studio, you are also able to hold regular spots in future classes for the
length of your contract AND you receive a 20% discount in the True Body Closet
store at the beginning of each month.
Additionally, we will be adding a year expiration date to all packages
purchased AFTER January 1, 2007. Currently, there is no expiration date on our
packages. We hope you will use your sessions with us sooner rather than later.
We hope you agree that a year is a very reasonable time period to use your
sessions. We do not offer refunds, however you can transfer your sessions to
another client or a friend.
All other prices will remain the same at this time including mat classes,
private sessions, the Initial Consultation Series and the Initial Intensives.

Welcome to new teachers Meghan Arata and Heather Sommer. Meghan
is a well-known yoga teacher in the community and is now Pendleton Pilates
certified. Meghan is also a full-time student so we hope she’ll spend time on
our staff as her busy schedule permits. We also are happy to welcome Heather
Sommer to our teaching staff. She is a Cincinnatian who moved back to town
recently from California.
She was trained by and taught for Julian Littleford, one of the most highly
regarded Pilates instructors in the world. We are fortunate to have Heather on
staff.
Also, Caitlin Zivcovich recently joined our staff full time and is currently
dividing her time between teaching and helping with the administration duties
in Loveland, Downtown and Oakley. Caitlin will be working on a Community
Outreach program for Pendleton Pilates in order to place volunteer Pilates
instructors in the community for programs in need of fitness and wellness
services but who don’t have the budget to afford it. More on this exciting
program soon!
Teacher Training Starts in January
There is NO BETTER TIME to consider our Teacher Training program. It is a
four-month investment in your best self and will pay off in ways you can’t even
imagine. And if you graduate and teach a few hours a week, you pay off your
investment within a year with free Pilates and income from teaching. Beyond
that? We are continuing to grow and there are many opportunities with us. For
more information about our Teacher Training program, visit
www.pendletonpilates.com or call

Not one to like working out or even the thought of it actually,
I was intrigued by reading about Pilates. I needed to
work out and after my second baby tried a personal trainer but it just wasn't
right for me. I tried a few DVDs and tapes but without someone there to
motivate me and having two small children at home it was far from successful.
After much thought, the formal class atmosphere was really what I needed to get
the results that I wanted and I started my quest to "look better naked"! What
better motivation that what was printed on the flyer? It was all I needed and
after my first two initial consultations, I knew that I was hooked.
For the past three months I have been thoroughly enjoying my Pilates
experience. It not only has produced amazing results but it is an hour that
helps to take the stress of the world away - at least three times a week and
the instructors are really wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable about Pilates
and the body. The results of my Pilates experience so far are truly amazing and
I have told everyone I know how wonderful it is and how great I feel. If the
gym and the idea of "feeling the burn" just isn't in you, then Pilates is worth
a try.
I say, do Pilates and do it often!
