PENDLETON PILATES NEWS - February 28, 2005
www.pendletonpilates.com   back to news

From Stacy Sims

It is such an abundant time for me it is a bit overwhelming. And I find myself getting into that defeating head space, the one that tells me "you are so busy you don't really have time to exercise and eat right and return your emails." Some days it feels like I should have earned up enough Good Living Frequent Flyer Miles to earn a free trip or two. But I know it doesn't really work that way. I know that in order to feel this good and to have such amazing things happen to me, I need to stay in my body and to treat it well.

Because the really amazing part comes not in what you get back, but what you are able to give. The more that lands on my plate, the more there is to give back to the community. So on the days when I feel really self-centered, I just remember that if I slack off, I won't have as much to give. And usually that gets me going again. When that doesn't work, I call my mom and we go work out together. As much as I know about how important my Pilates and yoga classes are to me, I know I sometimes need help getting there and staying there.

So call a friend and come see us at the studio. And if you need a little more incentive, check out our new Unlimited Pilates and Yoga rate (see below).

And please join me next week at one of my local book signings for Swimming Naked in paperback at Joseph Beth at 7 pm on Wednesday, March 9th and at Barnes and Noble in West Chester, also at 7 pm on Friday, March 11th.  Also, check out Carol Williams' story about how Pilates changed my life on WCPO, Channel 9 News, Monday, February 28th at 5 pm. And listen to Thomas White and me on the Living on Purpose radio show Sundays at 7 pm on 1530 WCKY.

See what I mean about abundance?!? And there is even more. Read on ...

Unlimited Pilates and Yoga!

That's right. Now you can budget for unlimited Pilates and yoga classes at Pendleton Pilates. Starting Friday, March 11th, you can buy an Unlimited Pilates and Yoga Package. Here's the way it will work. You can sign up for either a six-month (24 week) or year-long (48 week) package. If you buy a six month package, we will deduct $185 per month from your checking account. If you sign up for a year package, we will deduct $160 a month. And then you can take as many Pilates Reformer classes, mat classes and yoga classes as you would like at Pendleton Pilates.

So at the $185 rate, if you come 12 times a month it is about $15.40 a class. And if you come 15 times a month it is $12.33 a class. If you come in 10 times a month it works out to about $18.50 a session, which is in keeping with the current rates for group Reformer classes. If you sign up for a year, your per session rate becomes even more affordable.

If you are interested in signing up for the Unlimited Program, please let Shannon know at 513-478-3232 or at info@pendletonpilates.com  and we will work with you to determine when you want to start in this new program.

Thanks for Taking the First Step

We are dropping off a huge load of supplies and a cash donation to First Step Home (www.firststephome.org) this week. First Step Home is a non-profit, long-term residential treatment for women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. The residence also houses the women's children during their recovery so they can build healthy lives and new parenting skills with their family intact.

And thanks to those of you who started with us in January as well as those who brought in personal items, we are making a difference in our community. Thanks too to those of you who donated who aren't clients. We appreciate that you went out of your way to help out.

We are happy to welcome new clients Sailauna Scott, Monica Clary, Kevin Speece, Rick Porter, Steve Wanamaker, Jennifer Gibbs, Kay Kaple, Andi Ferguson, Ontrai Davis, Angelika Colvard, Krista Rossman, Joey Chandler, Aryl Hatt-Todd, Tasha Bryant, Nina Jones, Amy Kappers, Jane Burke, Alexis Weaver, Nona Waldeck, Sally Lamping, John Wuerdeman, Diane Durban, and Carol Tieman to Pendleton Pilates.

Refer A Client, Get A Class

So many of our clients are coming to us because of your recommendation. Please make sure to tell us if you have referred someone to our studio and we will give you a free class or a Pendleton Pilates t-shirt!

And Don't Forget ...

We've got more Reformer and Mat classes than ever, plus Yoga with Donna Covrett, Thai Yoga and Traditional Massage, Pilates for Golfers, our world-famous Triple XXX class, Teacher Training, workshops and more.

Also, Nancy Wilman has her new "Creative Flow" Yoga downtown on Thursday mornings at 10:00 am.  She invites you to come check it out with your first session free!

If you haven't visited us in awhile, make sure to stop by and find out what keeps us the busiest Pilates studio in the region.

We Are Getting Busy!

Please make sure to let us know 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel a session with us. Our classes are filling up and those Reformer spots are becoming an increasingly valuable commodity. And we know that you certainly don't enjoy paying for a class that you were unable to attend.

Living on Purpose

Don't forget to listen in to 1530 WCKY on Sunday nights at 7 pm to hear Stacy Sims, Thomas White and Lynn Rohr on Living on Purpose talk to guests including Deepak Chopra. For further information on the radio program and the Living on Purpose educational programs, visit www.livingonpurpose.us.

Our Talented and Busy Teachers

It's hard to believe that our teachers do more than teach great Pilates, but they are as active and talented as they are dedicated Pilates teachers. Mark your calendar to see Melissa (aka "Liz") Kaiser in Chicago on April 28-30 at 8:00 pm, May 1 at 2:00pm and then May 4-7 at 8:00 pm. We'll remind you closer to the big event so Pendleton Pilates can be well represented in the audience to cheer on Melissa.

And What About You?

How is it going? Any stories you want to share about Pilates? Any causes you want us to support? And good news we can post at the studios or here in the newsletters? Please let Shannon or Stacy know how we can get the word out about your good work.
