From Stacy Sims

This is the hardest time of the year to stay committed to anything that is remotely good for you. At least that's the way it is for me. It is really easy to think, "Oh, well. I'll take better care of myself next year. It's the holiday season. I deserve a break." And it is also easy to rationalize spending less time taking care of ourselves because we are, theoretically, giving so much to others. Well, in my experience, this is a very bad plan.

Here is one example. Several years ago, I sat with my family and friends at a pre-Holiday event. We were gathered around a table for a meal and someone asked the incredibly sensitive and generous question, "What non-material thing do you wish to give to your loved ones this year?" My son answered "More time with my mom." My significant other answered "Good health for everyone." When it got to me, I sat there for a long, silent moment before blurting out "More? You want me to give more?" And then I started to cry.

Clearly, I was a bit stressed. And  clearly, I wasn't doing nearly enough Pilates or anything else good for me. I was consuming way too much caffeine and other festive liquids, and running myself ragged, all in the name of holiday cheer and all that jazz.

When we don't take a little time working to stay centered, balanced and in our bodies, we can get out of  whack and fast. And that isn't good for anyone.

So, let us help you stay in touch with your best self this holiday season. Starting November 15th, if you maintain an average of three classes a week until the end of the year (that's 21 classes total), we'll give you six (6) free classes with the purchase of your next package in 2005. If you maintain an average of two classes a week until the end of the year (that's 14 total), we'll give you four (4) free sessions with the purchase of your next package in 2005. If you maintain an average of one class a week (7 classes), we'll give you two (2) free sessions with your next 2005 package.

The only catch is that you need to let Shannon know you are working in our STAY CENTERED FOR THE HOLIDAYS promotion so she can track your sessions separately from our standard system. As usual, call 513-478-3232 to reach Shannon.

Cheers! See you at the studio.

Advanced Reformer Workshop

Saturday, December 11th, 2-5 pm.

This advanced technique workshop will introduce teachers and students to the Pendleton Pilates method. This three-hour workshop at our downtown studio will invigorate your Pilates practice and expand your knowledge of the fundamental principles of Pilates. Stacy Sims, Pendleton Pilates’ founder and head of the Teacher Training Program, will help you get the most out of each exercise you teach and/or perform and will also explore more advanced techniques for intermediate and advanced students and teachers.

Pendleton Pilates' students will enjoy fine tuning their appreciation for the work and be able to reinvigorate their own practice.

Stacy will have just returned from a workshop with internationally recognized Alan Herdman, who has a Pilates studio in London. Space is limited. $30 deposit required to hold your space.

The Class Fee is $100 or $75 for practicing Pendleton Pilates’ clients. Please call Shannon at 513-478-3232 to reserve your spot.
